Our program
Designed to help children realize their potential
Our services extend far beyond basic assistance. The YES Center provides holistic, youth-centered support designed to meet the emotional, practical, and developmental needs of young adults aging out of foster care. Every participant receives individualized guidance that reflects their goals, strengths, and immediate circumstances.

From educational support and career development to housing stability and life-skills training, our programs are built to foster independence, resilience, and long-term self-sufficiency. We walk beside youth as they navigate adulthood—helping them secure employment, manage finances, access healthcare, and build supportive relationships.
Whether you are a youth seeking direction, a community member looking to give back, or a partner organization interested in collaboration, we invite you to join us in strengthening the future of Prince George’s County. Together we can create lasting change—one young adult at a time.
Why us
Employment, Housing, and Health
The YES Center offers a comprehensive network of employment, housing, and health services designed to address the immediate and long-term needs of youth transitioning from foster care. Our team works closely with each participant to remove barriers and open doors to opportunity.
At the heart of these services is our belief that stability creates opportunity. When basic needs are secure, young adults can dream bigger and move confidently toward their future.
Immediate Support
We help youth stabilize their lives by connecting them to urgent resources, emergency housing referrals, job leads, transportation assistance, food security, and healthcare enrollment. Our priority is ensuring that no young adult faces homelessness, unemployment, or untreated health concerns alone.
Short-Term Growth
Participants receive hands-on coaching in resume building, interview preparation, budgeting, tenant education, and health navigation. Through workshops and one-on-one case management, youth develop realistic action plans to secure steady income, affordable housing, and consistent medical care.
Long-Term Stability
Our long-range approach focuses on career advancement, permanent housing solutions, and whole-person wellness. We remain connected as youth progress celebrating promotions, supporting lease renewals, and encouraging healthy lifestyles that sustain independence for years to come.
01
Educational & Vocational Goals
Education is one of the strongest pathways out of poverty and uncertainty. The YES Center empowers youth to define and achieve educational and vocational goals that align with their interests and talents.
- Assistance enrolling in GED and high school completion programs
- Support applying to community college, universities, and trade schools
- Help accessing financial aid, scholarships, and training stipends
- Career exploration, certification programs, and apprenticeship connections
- Academic tutoring and study-skills coaching
We recognize that many youth have experienced disrupted schooling. Our team helps rebuild confidence in learning, celebrating every milestone from passing a single class to earning a diploma or professional license.
Whether a young adult dreams of becoming a nurse, electrician, entrepreneur, or software developer, we provide the roadmap, encouragement, and resources to turn aspirations into real credentials and careers.
02
Mentoring & Independent Living Assistance
Mentoring Relationships
Each participant is paired with caring mentors who model positive decision-making, goal setting, and healthy relationships. Mentors provide consistent encouragement, helping youth navigate challenges at work, school, and home.
Practical Life Skills
Workshops and coaching cover real-world essentials:
- Budgeting, banking, and credit building
- Cooking, nutrition, and household management
- Tenant rights and responsibilities
- Communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution
- Time management and self-care
03
Hands-On Support
Staff assist with apartment searches, furniture resources, transportation planning, and connecting to community programs. Youth practice independence while knowing a trusted team is only a phone call away.
Through mentorship and skill-building, young adults gain the confidence to say, “I can do this on my own.”
Central to our approach is the belief that every young person deserves a supportive community and a real chance to succeed. The YES Center team works tirelessly to create a space where youth feel valued, heard, and empowered to pursue their dreams, and to build lives defined by:
- Hope
- Purpose
- Independence
